At the Forest Roastery, we roast Prabhakhan farm coffee to a light roast, but our signature Dark Roast coffee is also 100% Prabhakha farm coffee, so you can choose your roast level. Light roasting is the best way to bring out the natural aroma, berryiness and citrusy freshness of the coffee. This coffee is well suited for filter extraction.

Prabhakhan farm produces very small quantities of speciality coffee, and we have purchased all of this production from the farm when it has been available. The coffee is thinly fruity and acidic, and the bean is very dense and small in size, typical of the high-growing Arabica indigenous variety. The coffee farm is exceptionally high and located in a less cultivated and less populated area of the Baba Buda Mountains, so elephants and tigers are a common sight on the farm, even to the extent that the cows have been eaten by tigers. The area has little commercial farming, a clean climate and waterways, and a rich biodiversity that attracts wildlife.

Prabhakha has not used any pesticides or fertilisers to promote coffee cultivation in the last 5 years, so the coffee is clean even though it does not have commercial certification. This is one of the Forest Roaster’s family’s favourite coffees to drink at home 🙂
