This slightly darker roast from Balmaadi has a stronger body, milder acidity and a slightly creamy aftertaste. In previous years, this has been the most popular roast from Balmaadi. The roast is taken beyond the first “crack” of the coffee seed, but not much beyond that. This roast is also done with a ‘slow roast’ profile, where the seed is rolled to its core, forming the ‘body’ of the coffee and, of course, the roast aroma. The roast is left at a medium so that it does not overpower the other characteristics of the bean, and the coffee bean’s charming qualities will taste great in your cup. Balmaadi farm coffee is also available in a light roast at the Forest Roastery if you are a fan of light roasts. This darker roast goes well with cappuccino and latte-based drinks as an espresso base.
