Uplifting the world in our minds and actions means working in harmony with nature and humanity. Today, we enjoy a food supply that involves the whole of humanity and global nature. Therefore, ethics and ecology can have no limits. We believe that a good life cannot be built only for oneself, but by creating it for all. By serving others, you serve yourself.
At the time, though, we had no idea how this task would be carried out…

The Logo of SampoKone
In SampoKone’s logo, East meets West in the form of a swan and an elephant. Both animals are sacred and meaningful in their respective cultures. In our logo, as in the world, the heart, the symbol of love, creates the connection between everything and is the most meaningful thing in our existence and the purpose of human life.
Of course, we wanted good coffee for the Sampo-bicycle. Through a few coincidences during a trip to India in winter 2016, we discovered Indian coffee.
SAMPOPYÖRÄ
Petteri had been planning for some years to change his day job to entrepreneurship, with the dream of starting a smoothie café.
During this completely unplanned adventure, we met Mrs Lekha Chandrashekar, a woman with 50 years of experience in coffee farming. She showed us around her farm, which made a big impression.
FOREST ROASTERY
Talvella 2016-2017 tapasimme Balilla Wiliam Edisonin, miehen joka rakentaa itse kahvinpaahtimia. Eipä mennyt aikaakaan, kun Petteri jo postitti lentorahtina Suomeen Wiliamin 1 kg paahtimen ja otti Wiliamilta oppitunteja paahtamisesta, jotta voisimme itse alkaa paahtamaan intialaista kahvia Sampo-Pyörää varten.
The original idea was to offer Indian green coffee to other small roasters, and we even visited many of them to introduce ourselves. But it must have been ment for us to carry out our small farm coffee activities ourselves in our own roastery. The Forest Roastery turned out to be a unique brand and a creation that reflected our values.
The end result is a happy sum
Tänä päivänä maahantuomme ja paahdamme muutaman eri tilan kahvia omaan kahvilaamme sekä jälleenmyyjille ja muille kahviloille. Myymme raakakahvia niin suomalaisille kuin eurooppalaisille pienpaahtimoille, toimien yhteistyössä muiden suomalaisten pientuottajien kanssa.
Toimintamme keskiössä on kunnioitus kaikkea elämää kohtaan. Intentionamme on tehdä hyvää ja tiedostavaa toimintaa, jossa itse tekeminen tuottaa iloa meille ja muille, ja lopputulos sen onnellinen summa.
